So who is left in the Southland and who should they add?Ī bunch of Louisiana schools and the leftovers in Texas who didn’t make the WAC cut. MEAC: Lost best schools and lost it’s equalness with the SWAC. Southland: lost it’s top teams and is left with McNeese leading the charge. They might cancel the celebrity bowl (Usual Bowl Game with MEAC champ) to compete for national championships. They are such a dominant conference in comparison to the MEAC.
ASUN CONFERENCE PLUS
Plus with Liberty already having FBS designation, the ASUN might be making a move. Makes it ones of the most complete FCS conferences. Rumors are they have a goal to go to FBS eventually although no schools meet the attendance or capacity requirements.ĪSUN: starting back football and grabbing good schools. WAC: finally getting back football, and scooping up the national champs. (The School formally known as Dixie State) The WAC also has some schools transitioning to D1 like: So this year, they have a scheduling alliance to make it through the year on short notice. The ASUN and WAC are both trying to restart conference sponsored football. They and the Southland are bare bones right now. The MEAC also lost some schools to the SWAC and Big South. There were 4 teams moving to the WAC, 1 to the ASUN. The remaining teams kicked them out the conference. Hearing the news their conference mates we’re leaving. If you guys didn’t already know, the Southland saw some top programs bolt the conference last year.
